We Are What We Eat.

We Are What We Eat.

[Guest post by Catherine.]

Five a day, that’s what they say. Those good people of the World Health Organisation have been recommending the practice of consuming five portions of fruit and vegetables each and every day for a number of years now.

A bit like high-octane racing fuel:Some of the fittest people on the planet are undoubtedly our professional sportsmen and women, those dedicated individuals who entertain and thrill us with their seemingly God-given abilities and super-high levels of endurance.

It’ll be no surprise to anyone that they manage such feats through mental and physical strength, their minds focussed one hundred per cent on their game, match or race, and that they have diligently worked and exercised their bodies into a perfect state for their chosen sport.

It also won’t come as any surprise that, in general, they are equally strict with the food they fuel themselves with. Most will live on high quality, nutrient-rich food that provides their bodies with the incredibly high amounts of strength and energy they need.

To ensure our bodies grow properly, repair themselves effectively and perform well –whatever it is we task them with – we too need to feed them correctly. That is why a healthy balanced diet is so important and why fruit and vegetables should be eaten daily.

De-caffeinate : A convenient and often tasty way of getting multiple portions of fruit and veg is by combining several portions together to make a smoothie or a soup. “But I don’t have time to make that,” you might say.

Well, you have a few minutes don’t you? Everyone has a few minutes, even in today’s fast-paced times. After all, it takes a few minutes to make a cup of tea or coffee doesn’t it?

So instead of waiting for the kettle to boil, why not simply toss a few pieces of fruit into a Breville blender, secure the lid and push the button? After a few seconds, voila! A perfectly tasty, and very healthy, fruit smoothie. Freshly made, full of vitamins and other essential goodies, and part of your five a day, of course.

I have a ton of products in my bathroom and with all the bottles and tubs, the shelves have no place so hubs has reprimanded Politely asked me to empty them first before buying any new prods. Besides, these days I’m seeing so many empties videos and blog posts and I really like seeing them, what people are using. did they like a particular product etc- so one of my blogger friends suggested I should try doing it too….. well then, here it goes wink July August Empties.

I can’t believe it’s already August. Seems like the days go slow but the months are running by. But it makes me happy to think that summer will be over soon and Fall will come by. Summers in Florida are real messy and This  season, I have been sunburned 3 times already, my back was severely burnt twice and my knees are permanently brown now..
I really hate piling on products because I have a severely acne-prone skin which has its own mind. its dry on some spots and oily on some so I don’t even know what to do with it most times. grrrr… and when Effortless products come in my radar I am a happy camper laugh Review: Aveeno Positively Ageless Correcting Tinted Moisturizer.

Cost :around $19.99 (you can always find a good sale at CVS, Walgreens, Amazon or ULTA) for a 1.7 oz bottle.

My experience with the product:  If you know me you know that I always dilute my foundation. unless I have a very exquisite event, I always always mix my foundation with a moisturizer or water before applying. So far my fav has been the Laura Mercier one (reviewed HERE)  but I use it sparingly coz its so god-damn expensive. Agree???

I was really happy when I got this..  I knew we were going to be great!!!

  • - It blends on the face beautifully. With brushes and with fingers.
  • - It gives a light to medium finish and is buildable.
  • - If you don’t have really dark circles, can be used as a concealer too.
  • - Absolutely lightweight.  you won’t feel you’ve applied anything.
  • - Gives a lovely illuminating glow… not shine. I wear it in 90 degree F and I have an acne prone oily skin.
  • - It might get a li’l bit shiny by the end of the day but nothing a few dabs of blotting sheet won’t take care of.
  • -  Pump dispenser so hygienic smile Review: Aveeno Positively Ageless Correcting Tinted Moisturizer.  but no lock so not travel friendly.
  • - I am definitely buying this again and again.  :D
  • - Definitely recommended.
