So, Is it worth the hype????

2012 is the year of Revlon. This is the 3rd product along with the lip butters and the whipped foundation which is so popular that it is off the shelves in most drugstores. This really has been the surprise of the year I’d say because other than the MUFE liners, none of the products (even the high end ones) have gained this much popularity, or sale-ability [is that a word???]
So, after the whole Lip-butter fiasco ended, Revlon launched these summer must-have lip stains which have girls getting more ecstatic than frozen yogurt… yuppp you read that right *nods head*

What is it? A glossy lip crayon which acts like a lip stain.
How much? $9. at drugstores
shades? about 12

My experience with the stain:  you guys might have heard that Looks-wise this is very similar to the Clinique chubby sticks and the NYX jumbo pencils but honestly, the comparison stops right there.  all 3 of them are moisturizing like balms but the Revlon has a little edge over them. It is highly pigmented, especially the darker shades like “Romantique”.  I got this particular shade because I wanted to try an orange/tangerine lip color since a very long time.

The crayon has a rounded tip and is retractable. which is a great thing as the product won’t get wasted during sharpening (which happens to be my pet-peeve). Also, as you apply, it gives a faint minty tang which goes off quickly. Other than that there is no taste or odour. Taste matters a lot in lippies for me because I end up eating some and sometimes the odour is so chemically strong that it’s nauseating… if you know what I mean wink Review: Revlon just bitten kissable balm stain in romantic/romantique. ;)

After the initial glistening wears off, it then goes in the stain mode. This particular shade looks like the after-effects of eating a popsicle. makes me reminisce the good-old school days smile Review: Revlon just bitten kissable balm stain in romantic/romantique. On me the staying power is about 3-4hrs. with light snacking. If you are eating proper Indian or mexican food, it’s less.  Also, you need to really scrub and moisturize ur lips because it’s very unforgiving that way. Also, it means less touch ups- so very work appropriate smile Review: Revlon just bitten kissable balm stain in romantic/romantique.

Would I repurchase? I am surely getting at least 2 more shades. maybe a great mauve smile Review: Revlon just bitten kissable balm stain in romantic/romantique.
would I recommend? yess smile Review: Revlon just bitten kissable balm stain in romantic/romantique. go get this. you won’t touch a lipstick for a long time wink Review: Revlon just bitten kissable balm stain in romantic/romantique.

Verdict:  This product has really caught my attention. I just wish they bring more non-pink shades.

Eric McCormack Perception

I fell in love with Eric McCormack  roughly 8-10 yrs ago when I secretly used to watch will and Grace. I still catch the re-runs sometimes. So when I saw the promos of Perception a month back I set the date on the calender coz I didn’t wanna miss it for anything.  I was a regular viewer of monk and was aware of the mentalist- and the concept seemed very similar. Besides, anything with “neuro” and “scientific” and “abnormal” in it always has my eyes and ears perked up. So here I am, on my beloved couch, engrossed and holding on to every word Eric utters…. sinking his every expression and idea smile Perception on TNT featuring Eric McCormack

The Press info reveals:
In Perception,McCormack plays Dr. Daniel Pierce, a neuroscientist and professor recruited to help the federal government crack difficult cases. His intimate knowledge of human behavior and masterful understanding of the mind give him an extraordinary ability to read people, but his eccentric view of the world and less-than-stellar social skills can often interfere with his work.

Rachael Leigh Cook co-stars as FBI agent Kate Moretti, Pierce’s former student and the person responsible for recruiting him to work for the government. Smith plays Max Lewicki, the teaching assistant whose primary job is to keep Pierce in line and on task. Rowan is Natalie Vincent, Pierce’s best friend and every bit his intellectual equal.

My verdict:  In 2 words - Its brilliant!
Named aptly, this is based on Daniel’s perception of the cases, life, and in general – Realityand normalcy smile Perception on TNT featuring Eric McCormack There are huge scientific references and some bravado but honestly, it keeps the viewers intriguing and gripping.  One might think they’d guess the essence and the killers (mainly after watching those hordes of nonsensical crime shows) – but nope…. this features fact and as they say- “fact is stranger than fiction”. In a long long time I really was concentrating on the TV- rather than keeping it as a background chatter.
Eric goes way opposite to his “WILL” character. He still is endearing though. He must’ve really done a lot of research for this character….it might seem on the lines of “a beautiful mind” but the comparison ends there. Daniel is aware of what he is going through and he embraces it. He makes his schizophrenia work for him even though he is trying to get rid of it. He has a very modest appeal around him with the scarf and the cassette walkman (do they even have those now???)  He still is scared of social intimacy though….
As for the other cast,  Rachael Leigh Cook looks adorable and  everyone else does justice to their roles….  I am definitely hooked!!!
Bring it on Eric …. laugh Perception on TNT featuring Eric McCormack
